Have you seen the new site yet???
If not, you'd better run, not walk over to the new Midnight Rooster home!
On second thought...don't run...or walk...those could be dangerous with a computer!
Hope to see you there!!

Get READY!!!
Our new site is coming soon!!!
Because the new site is just about done we may be down for a few days while everything is being transferred over. Our blog spot will still be here so be sure to check back here for updates and news! This new design took a bit longer because I decided in the end to go with a prophoto blog template. The amazing and super sweet Steph Anne from Yellow Savvy Designs was so patient and more than willing to make those changes for me. I'm telling ya, if you want a blog makeover she is the one to contact! She has such a clean and organic feel to her design...I just love it!
Because the site will be down soon, I wanted to post the kit pictures here as well as some design team work. This kit was easily my favorite of the last 6 months. I love the mix of yellow, blue, pink and green...but in a vintage tone. Delish. And wait till you seen the projects by the talented Ms. Michelle, Gretchen and Emily. Emily rocked out some wicked cool pages after just giving birth to her beautiful new baby boy! I hope you enjoy!
And here's a little taste of each designer's projects...
Emily:
Gretchen:
Michelle:
I hope you enjoy these peaks for now! As soon as the new site is done I will have each designers April projects posted.
Have a great week everyone!!!
Peace*Love*and Sweet Serendipity

April Sneaks!!
Happy Monday! I'm here in sunny Florida with my sun kissed (ok, sunBURNED) family. I get the award for the worst momma in the world for letting my babies get so red. You just forget how hot the sun is down here and even with 85 SPF they are feeling the sting. This is our first family vacation outside the Midwest and it was so beautiful to see our kiddos reaction to seeing the ocean for the first time.
Today they got to experience the first dangers of the ocean for the first time as we had TWO Man-O-War Jellyfish wash up 10 feet from our spot on the beach! Pretty amazing to see those bad boys in real life! Thank goodness no one was stung!
So I am actually doing a little work while on vacation...FINALLY getting those sneak peeks done! This kit has to be one of my all time favorites...the colors are so great and the embellishments are to die for! I can't wait to show it to you in all it's glory on the 9th!! :) But to hold you over till then...
This is the month our designers go down to 3 plus me. This was such a hard thing to do you guys...to have to say goodbye to FIVE girls who have worked so hard to create such beautiful layouts is not something I am good at. I put it off far longer than I should have and the girls were more than understanding. Staying with us will be Emily Spahn, Gretchen McElveen and Michelle Burry. Please visit the other girl's blogs and let them know how amazing they are and thank them for all their hard work for Midnight Rooster.
I am SO close to getting our new blog ready! Actually it is ready...but I think I want to go with a prophoto template and I don't want Steph Anne from Yellow Savvy to wast her time coding more than she needs to. It is this decision that is delaying things a bit...but the new look is so awesome! Simple, beautiful, perfect...everything I was looking for. Uh, I am so excited to show it off! :)
Last month was our first month of customers being billed with paypal vs. being billed automatically. It went just as I planned and I LOVED it!! I am sooooo happy for this change I can hardly stand it! Be sure to read the next newsletter, I will go into more detail again on how the new site will work!
So that's it for me tonight! I am getting ready to enjoy the awesome thunderstorm getting ready to hit us soon! I hope you all have a phenomenal week!!
peace*love*and aloe vera!

OK, so I know this isn't scrapbook related, but how CUTE is THIS? I could have just linked the blog and told you to go there...but I want it here, so I can remember where it is when I want to make one!! If you want to check out the whole blog {she is pretty adorable} go here!
J Crew Inspired Ruffle Shirt Tutorial!!!
Start with 2 long sleeve t-shirts. I got mine on clearance at target for $1.48 each!!
Fold in half...
You want it to be short sleeve (summer is coming up!!), so lay your favorite short sleeve t-shirt on top of it and cut the sleeves off...
It should look like this!
Then cut the sleeves open...
And cut each sleeve in half... You should have four strips total. :)
Next, pin the strips together and sew...
Now we are gonna get a little crazy!! Crank that tension up to 9!!
And crank the stitch length to a whopping 5!
Then just start sewing... and watch those lovely ruffles start forming!! Go down both sides, and when you are done your ruffle should look like this...
We're getting there!!
Now, whip out that other t-shirt you bought, and repeat the steps you did for the last ruffle, but this time gather just ONE side. :)
It should look like this when you are done! Just pin both ruffles on... and sew them!!
You are done!!! WOO HOO! We did it!! :)
and just look at all those gorgeous ruffles!?!
Man, I can't wait to make one of these! If you make one be sure to link it up here so we can see it!!

March Kits
Hello! Because of the changes that have started taking place with the blog transition we are "weaning" out pieces of the website. The first being, if you've tried to purchase a kit, is our billing system. You are no longer able to purchase kits from the website so I posted our available March kits in the Midnight Rooster etsy shop where they are available for purchase. We only have THREE left, so don't delay on this awesome kit! If you have any questions or would like to become a subscriber please email info@midnightrooster.net and I will notify you when a subscription is available!
Have a fantastic week!
