I hope that everyone is enjoying a fun, safe holiday with your family and friends.
Today was the deadline for the sketch contest, and it looks like we have some super busy fans following our blog. I was so looking forward to seeing everyone's beautiful creations, but maybe next time. ;) I'd still like to give away a mini kit chock-full of MR goodies - and a few original creations by me, too! So, this is what we'll do. Between now and Wednesday, leave a comment here with your favorite summer memory. I'll pick a number at random and post the winner's name Wednesday night. Good luck! =)
*hugs*

My favorite summer memory - when I was little spending the weekend at my Grandparents house in the mountains, swimming in the pond and sitting around the bon fire in the night time. Oh those were the days - the simple life!
ReplyDeletePlaying "jail break" with my cousins at the cain when we were all younger. Ah, the good ol' days!
ReplyDeleteWe love to camp & can't get enough of it! Cooking dutch oven style has become our favorite thing to do! We stay at home & camp on our 85 acres and that works just perfect for us!
ReplyDeleteBrittney~ Jailbreak!...now that brings back some memories! :0)
Visiting my grandmother in PA every summer :) We always went swimming & had picnics with my cousins at Bald Eagle Park, played Ouija Board on the back porch, and snacked on her homemade pizzas :) Also - spending the summers picking strawberries with my mom at the farm down the road :)
ReplyDeleteGoing to the beach every Sunday. My mom would get everyone in the car and we would either go to Baron Lake (remember Kugler's Beach) or Lake Michigan. She would pack a picnic lunch with cold fried chicken, fresh vegetables, potato chips and lemonade. It's my favorite childhood memory. Love ya, and miss ya, mom.
ReplyDeleteMy fave summer memory would have to be staying up late chasing fireflies. I still love to do that with my kiddos.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite summer memory is going to the beach with my kids and taking pictures of our feet in the sand.
ReplyDelete=)
Favorite summer memory? Spending a day at the beach with my nieces, no worries of a schedule and splashing around in the water with them.
ReplyDeleteI love summer boat rides. My grandpa plays polka music on the pontoon stereo, and we drink and snack and drive around the lake.
ReplyDeleteCamping with my family when I was little.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite summer memories always involved the beach! To this day, I love to sleep with a window open at the beach so I can hear the ocean. I always get the best night's sleep at the beach. :)
ReplyDeleteI have always loved summer. I think my favorite memories growing up was spending time up north at the cabin - fishing, water skiing, swimming, catching minnows, turtle races and flirting with the local boys. Ahhhhh....nice.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite summer memory difficult to choose
ReplyDelete2002 my daughters wedding,2005 the birth of their 1st son & 2010 birth of their 2nd son.

My favorite summer memories are the family road trips we used to take as kids to escape the desert heat.
ReplyDeleteSummers spent at my grandparents camp on the lake are my favorite memories. Our family would spend many many days playing on the beach, boating, roasting hotdogs and marshmallows, and sitting by the bonfire.
ReplyDeleteGoing strawberry picking with my parents and squashing the fruit as hard as I could into the punnet so that I got my money's worth! And then licking the strawberry juice off as it ran through the holes in the bottom of the punnet! :)
ReplyDeleteWe make new memories every summer at the beach. Last summer was my favorite summer ever in my life, which is saying a lot given that I am 38 years old! Playing in the water with my kids, crabbing, clamming, fishing, bbqs - family time - it's the greatest.
ReplyDeleteHaving neighborhood cook-outs....my mom would put a stereo speaker in the window and we'd sing/dance while roasting hotdogs on sticks over the fire pit (and melt the bottom of our canvas sneaks if we rested them on the edge of the metal firedrum)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memories of summer (and those to come) are when we are out on our motorcycles travelling the country - the sights, sounds and smells - well not all of those are good - peuwy pig barns - and of course good friends and scrappy shots. In Alberta we have such a short summer that is great when it is here.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved just hanging out at the beach. I love the smell, the sounds & digging my toes into the sand. It's even more special now that I get to do it with my kids.
ReplyDeleteGymnastics camp! I went for 8 years and loved every minute of it :)
ReplyDeleteSwimming at my aunts! We had so much fun!
