Use your kit to create a family keepsake!

It's so important to me to take family photos with my twin daughters every 6 months or so when they are young because they are growing and changing so much. I used the Midnight Rooster July kit to create a keepsake wall hanging with a recent family photo.

First, I dry brushed cream paint on a piece of 12 x 12 scalloped chipboard that was part of an album. I used a piece of brown patterned paper by My Mind's Eye for the base and then I used a Fiskar's punch along a piece of pink patterned paper by My Mind's Eye as a border along the bottom.

I cut 4 circles from the October Afternoon patterned paper and then cut those in half and in half again and pieced the circles back together using one of each color. I turned up the edges for extra texture and dimension.

I cut part of my title from the Jenni Bowlin alphabet and placed it on an October Afternoon label sticker. I added my photo and the rest of my title.

Finally, I cut a piece of the fabric from the add-on kit and tied it in a bow at the top of my wall hanging. I added some pink tulle from my stash and tied it off. The resulting piece is bright and fun with a touch of shabby!

I'd love to see what you are creating using your Midnight Rooster kits! Be sure to link us up!

Until next time,
Jill
